SPORTS OFFERED:
We positively promote physical activity throughout our curriculum for all pupils. Every child receives 2 hours of PE activities throughout their week, these activities enable pupils to develop their creative, expressive and stamina abilities, problem solving skills and team work.
Some of the sporting activities we currently have available are:
Swimming - All pupils receive a weekly swimming lesson in our new pool.
MEND - Pupils participate in a variety of sporting events both indoor and outdoor.
Multi Skills Clubs - Pupils participate in a variety of sporting events both indoor and outdoor.
Cross Country Clubs - Pupils are developing the skills of stamina to compete in borough competitions.
Fencing - Children are taught all the basic skills of fencing, introducing the concepts of attacking and defending and co-ordination of hands and feet, through a variety of exciting games and exercises.
Football - Children are trained in the skills of football and compete in borough tournaments.
Cheerleading - Children are trained in the skills of cheerleading and compete in the dance festival.
Street Dance - Children are trained in the skills of cheerleading and compete in the dance festival.

SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2011 / 2012:
Southend Sports Partnership offers a comprehensive sports programme. In the previous season our children participated in:
  • Boys Football tournaments
  • Creative Dance Festival
  • Borough Sports
We also participated in a number of localised sporting competitions including basketball, cross country, rugby, hockey, multi skills and athletics.
As a school our Year 5 children also experienced marine activities including sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. Children in Key Stage Two also are provided with experiences of residential trips involving outdoor adventurous activities. We were also proud to send to Year 6 representatives to the SSCO award ceremony where our pupils were privileged to carry the Olympic Torch.

ANY ATHLETE PROFILES FOR G & T SPORTS PUPILS:
We currently send a selection of our pupils to the Gifted and Talented Athletics Training.

SPORTS MISSION FOR 2012 / 2013:
As a school we recently moved into our new building, we have a new sports hall, swimming pool and outdoor learning environment which means that we can provide even better sporting and leisure facilities for our pupils, staff and community. We are committed to ensuring that each child achieves their physical potential and develops their confidence so that they are able to contribute to the health and well being of themselves and others within the school and local community.
