Bournemouth Park Primary School

PE & Sport

Bournemouth Park Primary School opened on 1st September 2003 following the successful amalgamation of the Infant School and the Junior School.   A 'Community' school funded by the local authority it provides education for children from age three to eleven, with a mission statement "A Community of Learners", the school believes that parents and carers are a crucial part of that community.

Bournemouth Park Primary is committed to raising standards, improving attainment and promoting social inclusion.  It continues to work in partnership with other local schools and agencies for the educational and social benefit of the children.

The school also has strong links with Southend Football Club, Cecil Jones College and Southend East School Sports Partnership, meaning that an increased range of opportunities and experiences are made available to the pupils.

Bournemouth Park Primary School aims to develop children's enjoyment of physical activity, enabling them to develop and improve physical skill with enhanced control and coordination.  The PE curriculum develops the children's knowledge, skills and understanding, so that they can perform with increased confidence in a range of physical activities.

Pupils experience a range of activities in the delivery of the PE Curriculum, including, net/wall, striking and fielding, and invasion games; gymnastics; dance; athletics; orienteering; and swimming.
