St Nicholas School

Wednesday 17th September, St. Nicholas School was invited with four other Southend Special schools to a celebration of the Para-Olympic pass over to London 2012.  The festival saw dances from Lancaster School, KingsDown and our school St. Nicholas.  We were very fortunate to have Jo De Laine (St. Nicholas SSCo) choregraph, train and suppport on the day the dance for the festival.  In addition Priory school ran a relay to the five special schools which accumalated 7.3 miles to fininsh at the event held at St. Christophers school.  Here, the Priory lads handed a baton to the Southend Mayor with ribbons attached representing each school.  It was a very proud and special event that was strongly supported by our the Southend School Sports partnership.  On behalf of the school we thank Jo for her dedication and support.

St nicolas School has had a brand new sports hall and multi gym.  These facilities are a long time coming and its great to see that finally the students at St. Nicholas school have the same opportunities in PE as all other Secondary school pupils now.

SESSSA (South Essex Special School Sports Association) run a select amount of tournaments throughout the academic year covering an array of sports, the main sport being football where a football league has been created in the last couple of years .
